Details and names were released Monday in a New Jersey plane crash that killed two people this weekend.
The victims of Sunday’s fatal aircraft accident in Franklin Township
have been identified as Gerald Budge, 59, of Robbinsville, and Karen
Lowe, 52, of Telford, Pa.
The family of the victims has been notified, and the accident remains
under investigation, according to the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's
Office.
The accident happened at approximately 12:29 p.m. Sunday, when a 911
call was received by Hunterdon County Communications reporting an
aircraft accident at Sky Manor Airport, according to the HCPO.
State Troopers from State Police Kingwood barracks and members of
Quakertown Fire and Rescue responded to the scene, according to the
HCPO.
The aircraft crashed approximately one-half mile southwest of the
runway at Sky Manor Airport. The aircraft was recovered in a residential
neighborhood at the intersection of Sky Manor and Oak Summit roads,
according to the HCPO.
The pilot and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. There was
no damage to any residential property reported. The State Police Crime
Scene Unit and detectives from the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office
also responded to process the scene.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation
Administration are conducting the crash investigation. The Hunterdon
County and Franklin Township Emergency Management also responded and
provided assistance during the recovery efforts, according to the HCPO.
